Another Fabulous Friday!

Wow..what a busy week I have been getting through! And the weekend is looking pretty busy, but fun too! So much to catch up with...so little time....

Again...I will write more when I get a chance (hopefully this weekend!). I have about 5 posts drafted, but have not been able to wrap any up to actually post them! This weekend...promise!!

For now I will leave you with this...I love this little owl! And I just recently invested in a Macbook. I am thinking how cute of a decoration he would be on my new computer! These decal things that everyone is coming out with are pretty fantastic for easily sprucing up pretty much anything from a coffee mug, to your living room wall, and now your computer! MIA

I have been MIA from this little ol' blog for a few days now...I have actually just been MIA from the computer in a general sense which has been very nice.  My husband and spent the weekend in Vermont visiting some friends from college and their new little baby. They have two of the cutest kids in the world!

We stayed at the Hilton right on Lake Champlain which is always beautiful. It was a nice clear weekend so we could see the mountains over on the other side of the lake in upstate NY. I have some pics, but there are still on the camera, I'll try to get them posted this week.

Yesteday we were home and off from work and just enjoying relaxing. I was able to catch up on a lot of TV which was nice!!!!

Then today we went to the JFK Library and Museum with my mother and grandmother. My grandmother had been wanting to go for a while, she loved JFK. So we took her and had a great day.  I very much enjoyed seeing Jackie's outfits, she was such a classic beauty! Again..I have some pics, but I haven't loaded them yet...

Tonight we are off to the movies with some friends to see Just Go With It! I'll let you know how it is!

I am always far too excited for the arrival of a Friday. But this week, I NEEDED this Friday to come! It was just a really busy, exhausting week, and I am still trying to catch up.

The good news...I am going away for the weekend with the hubby! Heading to Vermont to visit some friends and meet their new baby. Very much looking forward to getting up early tomorrow and just heading north!

The weather has been so nice the past couple of days here in Boston. The snow is SLOWLY starting to melt, and the sunshining has been super mood uplifting after all this dreary winter weather we have been having. It will be short lived, and the cold will be back, but its nice to get that rejuvenating pick up mid winter!

Thursday...

It's Thursday...and I got nothing. Nothing to report this week! It has been a super hectic week so I am just looking forward to a nice long weekend. My husband and I are off to Vermont for the weekend to visit some friends, which I am very much looking forward to! I love VT...it is such a beautiful state.

Hope everyone is having a good week, and hopefully I will back with something semi-interesting on here later or tomorrow! (most likely tomorrow..)

Happy Valentines Day!

Today is Valentines Day and I love this little holiday. I love all the pink and hearts everywhere, and any excuse to buy or receive chocolate is a holiday worth celebrating for me! In order to get into the spirit I made some cupcakes this weekend and they came out great! I love the excuse to use pink frosting...

My little point and shoot camera has been taking pretty awful and grainy pictures lately, but my DSLR is filled with pictures from my honeymoon (from October...it's on my list of things to get to!), and pictures for my class so I was too lazy to clear the memory cards to snap some pictures of the pretty pink frosting.

Whether in love or out, on Valentine's Day I {LOVE} to...

Plain and simple, be around those I love, and if I can't be with them, then think about those I love. Valentines Day can be one of those over-rated Hallmark holidays that can easily lose their "true meaning". It is one of those holidays that you make of it whatever you want it to be. Sometimes it's nice to just have an excuse to do something out of the ordinary for someone. People have the argument that they should be able to do something nice (ie, get flowers) on any random day instead of Valentines Day...but sometimes life gets in the way, and Valentines Day is the perfect excuse to sit back and just do something nice.

That is my two sense for this little holiday!

I very much enjoyed this challenge and the questions that is raised. I hope my readers got to know me a little bit better, and I gained some new readers and discovered some new great blogs through this challenge!

Weekend coming to a close...

Another weekend that flew on by. They go so quick don't they? Does anyone else out there get the Sunday Scaries, as I like to call it?Are there people out there that DO NOT dread the start of their weeks? I don't mind my job, but that doesn't mean I look forward to going there on a Monday morning! But at least I am coming off a semi-productive weekend with a fair share of relaxing involved.

What is up for the week everyone? I am doing my friends taxes on Tuesday night, which should be a good time. I am slowly trying to acquire more little tax clients as a way to build up a little tax practice during the spring months. One of my many endeavors of actually putting my numerous degrees in accounting/finance to good use! I finished our taxes last night and e-filed those right away! It was a huge check off the list for this week.

Other than that, a relatively quiet week ahead, continuing on with the productive-ness around the house and getting through the piles of homework I have for my photography class.I am constantly re-decorating this place I call home, and I have been on this de-clutter streak lately. I have WAY too much stuff, too many shoes, clothes, well...too many of everything. You name it, I got 12 of them. It's ridiculous, and excessive, which is why I am hauling bags of stuff out to the donation bins at my complex every single day. I am a total neat-freak, but in order to "cleanse" the house I need to make it kind of messy to actually go through things. Hopefully this week I will have things more in order than the past week.

Now off to procrastinate on going to bed...the sooner I go to bed the sooner Monday arrives...EEK!!

I {LOVE} when I feel beautiful/sexy/pretty! This happens when ... 

• I Am wearing an outfit that is flattering and looks good
• My hair is long and done nicely and my makeup is perfect
• My husband gives me compliments, even when I don't feel all that pretty, he can make me feel pretty.  
• I wear a pair of pumps
• I have a tan

I get a good night sleep and feel rested and not like I am dragging all day

Some days it's just easier to feel like I look like crap...put no makeup on, throw on whatever clothes are easy an accessible, but really on any-day that I wake up, am not exhausted, and make an effort to get myself together I feel pretty good!

Well really, what reason is there not to love about blogging? I love to connect. What is better than writing a post on something YOU thinking is kind of cool, and then having people comment on it? Kind of an amazing feeling! And to get advice and support from fellow bloggers regardless of what the topic may be. Well that is pretty amazing too. I blog for the connection and community of it. To realize that I really am not alone sometimes. I blog because I love to write, I love to shop, I love to research, and I get to do all of that with my little ol' blog.

What I {LOVE} about my friends is...

They make me laugh.

They support my decisions, and stand behind me 100%.

They are all different from each other, and completely different from me. I have quite the array of friends, we are all so different, but we have one common thread and that is our friendship.

Anotehr day, another break-up

I was sad to read this morning that Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz are getting divorced! I liked them, and I thought they were cute together. What is it with these Simpson girls! I love the Simpson girls! But here we go...another break-up, exclusively reported by TMZ.

Reported from TMZ:

TMZ just broke the story that Ashlee has filed for divorce.

Our sources say, no third party is involved.  One source very familiar with the situation tells TMZ, "It's really all about Pete's erratic behavior."  The source adds, "She really wanted out."

The divorce move is surprising -- just a few days ago they appeared to be one happy family during an outing in West Hollywood.

For Valentine's Day I {LOVE} to bake/cook... {share a recipe!}

I love anything Red Velvet..whether its cupcakes, cookies, cake, cake balls...I love it all. And in the spirit of Valentines Day I thought I would post a Red Velvet Cupcake recipe I have tried in the past that I liked.

Makes 30 (1 cupcake) servings.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup milk

1 bottle (1 ounce) McCormick® Red Food Color

2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract

Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting (recipe follows) 

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Set aside.
2. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed 5 minutes or until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Mix in sour cream, milk, food color and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until just blended. Do not overbeat. Spoon batter into 30 paper-lined muffin cups, filling each cup 2/3 full.
3. Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into cupcake comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire rack 5 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely. Frost with Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting.

Tips

Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting:
Beat 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened, 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened, 2 tablespoons sour cream and 2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract in large bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in 1 box (16 ounces) confectioners' sugar until smooth.

If I could travel anywhere this snowy February, I would {LOVE} to go...

To a warm and sunny island! I would love to go to Tahiti or Bora Bora and stay in one of these little huts.

I am not afraid of the snow, so I would love to check out Vail Colorado in it's prime month, I bet it is so pretty.

And there is a part of me that would just want to go to LA. All the celebs are still wearing clothes like it is nice out there still!

My baby fever is running strong and one of my favorites, Melissa Reycroft is due to have her baby with her hubby Ty Strickland this month! I read it's a girl, but I can't wait to see photos, and hear what name they picked. They are going to make one gorgeous baby!

Good News!

Some days you just wake up to good news...and today was one of those days!

This morning I was lying in bed barely waking up for work and as per my usual routine I picked up my iphone and checked my email. I had an email from Casi the Editor at Cupcake Mag offering me an opportunity as a contributing writer! They were looking for interns/contributing writers and since I am in love with this site, and check it faithfully I emailed them about the opportunity.  After Cupcake Mag receiving a ton of interest in this position, me and one other girl, Lauren, made the cut. I am so honored and thrilled for this opportunity and will share more updates on it as I get more info!

Bring on February!

Once Feb hits, I feel like the winter is starting to slowly come to an end. (I stress the SLOWLY part of that sentence).With February hitting the calendars, spring styles are hitting the stores. I am totally itching for a tropical getaway....but instead I will window shop at the wonderful VictoriaSecret.com.

I came across this particular dress that Forever in Blue Jeans posted and feel in love...

And this one....totally perfect for brunch or something!

 

And I also loved the colors and flowy-ness of this one! The belt really makes it too
